How to make a pompom pet

What you need
 * scissors
 * fork
 * yarn, wool
* pink highlighter
 * little black beads
* little pieces of cardboard (or flit)
* measuring tape
 * glue

YARN
You will need 2 pieces of yarn.
*1 piece 3.6 m
*1piece 30.5 cm

Cut the yarn into two pieces. Place the 30.5cm piece in the middle of the fork. Wrap the 3.6m piece around the fork, tuck the end of the yarn in with the rest of the yarn. Tie the 30.5cm around the middle very tight. Cut all the loops on your pompom. Trim your pompom so all the pompom’s fur is the same height. Roll your pompom in your palm so all the fluff comes off. Put on the eyes, nose, ears and tail!!

  1. Morena Hebe,
    Great idea, pom poms are fun to make and would make a cool little soft toy. Have you made one? And have you got any pictures of it?

  2. This would be a great lesson for you to take with the children in our studio. Have you got any examples you could share. I've never heard of a pompom being made this way. Where did you learn about it?

  3. Hi Hebe, I had heard you can make a pompom with a fork but I didn't really know how to do it. Your instructions are very clear and I really like how you have listed the materials needed first. Im looking forward to seeing one of your pompom friends. We can add a picture to your blog next week if you bring one to school. Great work.
